Natural Turmeric Curcumin
Curcumin is the active compound that is found within the turmeric root (Curcuma longa), part of the ginger family.
We recommend taking 1 - 2 tablets per day.
Turmeric is the original source of curcumin. Curcumin is the primary curcuminoid (of 3) within turmeric and the most active ingredient. Turmeric contains around 3% curcuminoids and therefore one teaspoon of turmeric powder (about 5,000 mg) provides only about 150 mg of curcuminoids.
Curcumin is considered the most active ingredient in turmeric. Both have similar properties but many of the health benefits of turmeric come from curcumin, so the more curcumin you take, the more effective it is for you.
We have 95% purity and 495mg of curcumin per capsule, this is higher than most of the market. We also have special slow release capsules to ensure they reach your intestine, for better absorption.
Our capsules are able to make it through your stomach and into your intestine, where it can be absorbed. This is important to make sure you are actually able to gain the benefits.
Curcumin alone is poorly absorbed in the body, but black pepper contains the bioactive compound piperine which boosts the absorption of curcumin.
Natural Vegan Omega
Algae are plant organisms that live in fresh or sea water. They can be floating or attached to the bottom. Algae is very nutritious and as it is the start of the food chain, its nutrients are passed on to other marine life forms.
Docosahexaenoic acid is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid. Our DHA comes from schizochytrium algae oil.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) estimates that some 90 million tonnes of fish are taken from our oceans every year. In addition to this, a study shows levels of beneficial omega-3 oils in farmed salmon have fallen significantly in the past five years, By sourcing omega from algae we can reduce the amount and reliance on fish farming for omega.
Our algae is sourced in the north Atlantic Sea.
Due to the high levels of pollution in our seas, unfortunately fish can be contaminated with harmful substances such as Mercury. Algae based Omega does not have the same risks.
Each capsule contains 200mg DHA so we recommend taking 2 softgels per day.
