What are antioxidants?

We all know that antioxidant foods are good for you, but what does it actually mean?

Antioxidants are compounds that reduce damage to cells by preventing 'free radicals’ (another buzzword no one understands) from causing harm.

'Free radicals’ is a term used for highly reactive compounds that damage cells in the body. They are generated from toxins (i.e. certain foods, smoking, pollution etc). Antioxidants bind to free radicals and stop them damaging cells.

Curcumin is a double whammy for free radicals due to its anti-oxidant properties...and our product contains 495mg of curcumin per capsule, which is one of the highest on the market!
